I returned from home with 2kg tomatoes that had been dried in the sun. I can not remember how to use them, but would like if it's possible to store them in extra-virgin olive oil.

Must the dried tomatoes first be warmed in the oil before packing? I have dried oregano and wild thyme picked from my garden and would like to add them.

Does anyone please have a recipe or, can offer advice?

Thank you.

I purchase sun dried tomatoes from the grocery, and they come in an a jar, packed in olive oil. As to the details, I don't do canning, so I don't know.

I really them like on salads, and if I had enough of them, I'd nibble them just as they are for a snack!

Aren't they just so morish just on their own? But can be very expensive when bought in the extra-virgin oil. I love them as part of meze, also with pasta.
