Firming up roasted marconi peppers?

I have been tinkering around with these peppers... I really like them. I'm trying to stuff them, but the flesh is so flaccid after roasting I end up with a big mess. Any tricks?
 
Have you tried to just briefly char them on a grill or flame on a gas stove, put in a paper bag, then after 15 minutes, peel the charred skin off. The sidewalls and inside will still have shape, and should be stuffable.
Roasting them in the oven will most likely soften the sidewalls and inside and they lose their shape. HTH

Can you share your technique and recipe?
