I really want to make a tarte tatin, saw a Raymond Blanc programme where he made one and he used a ceramic dish on the hob to make the caramel then piled the apples on top and in to the oven!
He makes a tatin dish but its £60..... can I use another ordinary pie dish??
Any recommendations welcome!
Thanks!!:)

Of course. Any deep dish pie pan, (glass works best) can be used. I've even seen it baked in a Dutch Oven. Individual ramekins for an elegant individual effect can also be used, each tarte tan turned out and topped with a scoop of ice cream.

Have fun! :chef:
