I learned this from a couple of teenaged gals with whom I traveled. You start with whatever geographical place you see on a sign. It can be a state, a country, a lake, a mountain, a river, etc. Then everyone has to take turns coming up with a feature that can be found on a map starting with the LAST letter of the named place. As many times as I've traveled in a car,I'd never heard of this game and enjoyed it.

For example: Galena

answer: Alabama

answer: Arkansas

Answer: Salt Lake City

As you can see, there is no one completely right answer, it just has to be on the map.

Are rivers not counted? When we play this game we use rivers. And yes, there is an Old Man River here. There's a dam on it too. If you don't like rivers then let's try

Orange County

If there is a river called the old man river, that's fine. My mistake, I was thinking of the song.
