I have a new crockpot. I make boston baked beans using a very simple, classic recipe and found that the beans did not cook in time. I cook them for a bit more than 8 hours. I used soy beans instead of the typical navy, white or kidney. I am wondering - do soy beans take longer to cook than other beans? or perhaps my slow cooker is just a tad slower than others? I used dried beans, put them in water first, brought the water to boiling and then let them sit covered for more than an hour before I used them.
