This recipe is from my mother's handwritten cookbook dating back to the 40's. She cooked this many times, but I have never made it.

SODA CRACKER PIE

3 egg whites
1 tsp baking powder
1 cup sugar
16 soda crackers, finely crushed
1 cup favorite nuts
1 tsp vanilla

Gradually add baking powder and sugar to the slightly beaten egg whites while beating and beat until soft peaks form. Gradually fold in cracker crumbs, nuts and vanilla./ Pour into a well greased pie pan and bake in slow oven, 325F for 30-40 minutes until lightly browned. Slice like a pie and serve with your favorite topping, ice cream or whipping cream.
