Anyone Live in St. Louis, MO or Fairfield, IL?

We'll be heading your way at the end of April. Actually we'll first be staying in Fairfield, IL then traveling to St. Louis. If so, I have some questions.

Well, I live kinda close to St. Louis. We visit there at least two times a year, sometimes more, and have since I was little. Anything you need to know, I'm sure I or someone else in my family can help.

We'll be staying in Fairfield, IL.......not too far from St. Louis for a few days then heading to St. Louis. I want to spend some time downtown near the Arch. I'm looking for suggestions on where to eat or things to do. The age range for those going will be from 5 to mid 40's.
Any help will be greatly appreciated. I really want to avoid Six Flags this time. Nothing against it but I went there last year and would like to see some other attractions also.
