First year gardener here so will be looking for advice. Also trying my hand at herbs. I have a very productive pear tree this year so will be looking for recipes! Wanting to get back to nature and self sufficiency. Retiring in six years so will have lots of time to focus on nature!:smile

Welcome to DC! You'll want to add a small flock of hens to your list of things to have. Hens are easy to keep and fresh eggs are wonderful. I don't do pears--not fond of the texture--however, when we had pear trees, I used to make a pear chutney. There are lots of recipes for pear chutney on the Internet.
