I read a report earlier that food prices are dropping drastically. Really? I have seen eggs go down to $.99 a dozen, cheese is dropping, even milk. And the cost of oil is creeping up again.

As you all know, those who are on Social Security, the COLA increase is based on the rising cost of oil and food. The figures from October are used.

Well, if the cost of food keeps dropping, and oil fails to make a big jump in October, it looks like another year of no COLA increase.

I have not noticed anything dropping. The week when our local grocery had sale on eggs .99, everything else was at least a quarter more per pound.

I did notice the drop in egg prices. Bought 1.5 dozen for $0.89.

I am going shopping on the 3rd. I am going to be paying close attention to the costs.
