Pressure canned carrots

First attempt at pressure canning. My jar was full of baby carrots but now I have all this room in my jar after canning. Is this normal or did I miss something?

Did you can them in pints or quarts? I canned mine in pints and made sure they were crammed in as tightly as I could possibly get them in.

Vegetables sometimes shrink a little when cooked. I think it's normal.
