Finally Friday! What's Cookin' 4/17

WOW ! No dinner thread at all for Thursday....
....or did I just miss it ...

Well, I never was very adept at the "Flour / Egg Wash / Flour" drill;
But I gave it a shot today....

Chicken-Fried Steak (Top Round), Mashed & Gravy, Peas & Pearls ...

You must be tired. Here's a link to yesterday's dinner thread. You started it, unless someone is impersonating you. There was an issue with the spelling of "Thursday", but it has been fixed.

Spinach and egg drop, pasta soup, AKA stracciatella, with grilled prosciutto, roasted red bell, basil and a moz/provolone cheese mix. Craig kept making umm noises.

We're having stir fry tonight - I finally found some tofu - seems like it's been missing on the store selves for weeks. Costco had 4 lb boxes but that seemed like a LOT of tofu so I've been waiting...

you're a hoot LT!

I will be attempting a dish that I have not made in years!

I found some small, street corn tortillas in the deep freeze,
so I'll be frying the shells hard and filling them with ground Beef
Tacos Meat and adding the usual suspects to it:
Sliced Radish
Shredded Lettuce
Dice Sweet White Onions
Sliced Black Olives
Salsa
and Sour Cream for Moi

This is how my Father would make Tacos for us and they were
very juicy! He would say that if they didn't drip down your
elbow, than they weren't made right

Oh man!
My mouth is watering already!

Spaghetti with basil pesto and steamed broccoli. It's not easy being green...

Oh Joey, that steak looks so good!

We had Heretic Chili - it included beans. I used a heavy hand when seasoning. I'm going to need more sour cream.

AH-YUM!
I was over the Moon, unfortunately, this was not a hit with DH.
So he's welcome to make himself a PB&J, which I do not care for.

I took his leftovers apart and will make a Taco Salad for lunch tomorrow for myself, not sure what DH's having
Ya gotta work with whatcha got!

We ordered Indian food from a resto that we used to love. The table service became really poor as the pickup part of their business kept growing. Sadly, they didn't offer delivery. Well, a friend drives for Uber Eats and was in our area, so we arranged for him to pick up an order. Sadly, it was only good. It really wasn't up to their old standard. We will be trying some other local Indian restos for the duration of the lockdown, since our favourite Indian resto has decided to close for the duration and not bother with delivery and pickup.

Made an Indian Dish ( cauliflower, Potatoes & peas). with spiced Basmati rice with peas, carrots and onions. Also made a soup similar to one I had in an Indian Restaurant up in Massachusetts ( Holy crap! I spelled it right the first time ( and so early in the morning). With some store bought Naan. I was going to Make the Naan myself, but ran out of Umph.

Picked up some Chicken salad while I was at Walmart yesterday AM so we had that and crackers for both lunch and supper yesterday. Had a side salad with supper last night and some 2-bite muffins.
