Cream of Bacon Soup .......

I made Mexican style smothered chicken (sear meat, drown in salsa, simmer till done, melt cheese on top). Served it on top of rice. Fresh green beans on the side.

We had cold smoked salmon on bagels with cream cheese, sliced onion, and capers. There were dill pickles on the side. It was, as expected, yummy.
 
Discovered half a stuffed eggplant at the back of the freezer.

Tasty, spicy - have no idea what was in it.
Huge, only able to scoff down half of it... guess the other half will be for lunch.
 
DH has been developing a health sciences program for the high schools here and was invited to an open house last night at Operation Smile (https://www.operationsmile.org/ ). After the tour, we went to a Middle Eastern restaurant we hadn't been to before. DH got a kefta kebab platter and I got a chicken kebab platter. The restaurant was very basic - I imagine they do a lot of takeout - but the food was very good (I asked for my sauces on the side). .
