Official Dinner Thread for Saturday the 29th

Aside from the significant fact that 50 years ago today my daughter was born, it's dinnertime and time to share your culinary creations.

We in MA are facing a holiday weekend reminiscent of March weather wise. As a result, I defrosted a small chuck roast and made a batch of beef barley soup with mushrooms and a particularly ugly blueberry pie.

DH fired up the grill for the first time today and made burgers. I made some coleslaw to go with them. It was 17C (~63F), so perfect weather for grilling. We had cheese on our burgers, just to check if we thought it was worth it. Nope, didn't really do anything to enhance the burgers. They are plenty tasty without the extra fat and calories.

Here's the burgers on the buns and the condiments, cole slaw, pickles, and toppings.

We had hot dogs and A/F reheated beer battered fries from Fridays lunch out.

Apple pie was dessert.

Yes, they were in the freezer and perfect with the soup. Now I'll have to make more.

DH and I went to see the movie "Cruella" at our local movie house which also serves dinner. DH had a pastrami on rye with Thousand Island and sauerkraut; I had a chicken salad plate with fruit; and we shared the special - a caprese salad. So good, and the movie was great.
