Planned Company/Special Meals

What special meals are you planning to make right now? Boss for dinner, freinds, family, romantic dinner for two, birthday, holiday? What are you going to cook, how are you going to decorate/present it, who are you inviting, etc.

Right now I'm thinking of the fact that it is my turn to cook brunch for my friends. I'm bored with what I've been doing, yet it is so easy (my freinds may make eggs benedict and such, but I'm all for egg-based casseroles you can make up the night before most of the time). I'm thinking of pressing some sausage into a thin layger at the bottom of a pan, baking until just done, then topping with sliced hard boiled eggs and a smattering of cheese.

I have a frozen pound cake in the freezer and will try to design some fruit dish around that ... maybe individual trifles in my balloon-shaped big wine glasses.

To a degree we potluck, so I will "assign" a green salad and something else. Hubby is a real bloody mary maker, and everyone brings a bottle of bubbly.
