Chicken & Biscuits, with Color --- Sure missed the Warden in the kitchen today - "Grands" are okay , but............

Chicken 7 Biscuits 2021.jpg

We ordered out and tried a new place. It's Caribbean food. I had the jerk chicken and DH had the griot. That was delicious. It wasn't as hot as we had expected, but there was some sauce that had some nice heat. There was also some "pikliz", very finely julienned peppers that had been pickled. It was delicious. We will definitely order from them again. It was the first time we had plantain. It was okay, but kinda meh. I wouldn't go out of my way for it, but it was perfectly acceptable. That was a pleasant surprise, because we have a friend who lived in Jamaica for a few years and he couldn't stand the plantains.

Breakfast for dinner. French toast topped with homemade strawberry compote, blueberries, banana slices, sour cream and syrup. Side of ham steak.

Prosciutto de Parma, white asparagus, Hollandaise, fried egg on top of toasts. Kind of a brunch dish, but still made for a nice dinner.

I would gladly sit any one of your tables to join you :yum:

I'm going to make my version of Beef Broccoli served
over that ever present Steamed White Rice.

Brownies topped with Vanilla Ice Cream, Hot Fudge and
chopped Pecans for Dessert later.

I use packaged Broccoli Slaw Mix and I added in some
extra shredded Carrots that I had leftover from making
my Fried Saimin (Noodles) the other day as well some
diced Sweet White Onion

We had garden salads and stuffed shells. Rather than use Cheryl J's recipe, I used the one off the back of the Barilla box. It called for mascarpone; I had a tub that needed using up. Seemed like a good idea. While Himself really enjoyed it, I thought Cheryl's was better. Himself doesn't really care as long as there's pasta and my homemade meat sauce.

Sure wish Cheryl would come back to visit...

That's because Grands are made with just flour and stuff. The Warden's biscuits were made with love, too. Rarely does store-bought taste like love.
