happy anniversary, kads. lucky guy, your hubby. ;)

my little guy is fascinated with nyc lately, so we drove in and went shopping in times square, then had dinner in a pub in the south street seaport.
it was cheap, and unfortunately we got what we paid for.

i had the hot open roast beef with mixed veggies and mashed spuds. the beef was flavorless, the gravy from a can, the mashed from a box, and the veggies were reheated from frozen. all for $9.

that's really good for such a tourist trap, really, so i can't complain too much.

so now i'm going out for souvlaki.

An East TN vinegar Cole Slaw, a Sour cream slaw, some baked beans (Hmm, what happened to that picture?), and we’re good to go.

Love the picture of the cooked meat. Makes me want to get a smoker.
So what do you do with it after it's pulled apart? Make sandwiches?

I went to a play last night with my mom and stepfather and a friend. We went to a Mexican restaurant first - I had a chicken quesadilla and way too many chips and salsa ;)

You can do sandwiches on plain hamburger buns with or without Cole Slaw on them. Last night we did it on plates with slaw and beans as sides. I also put out several kinds of BBQ sauce for folks to choose from, most like a vinegar based sauce.

Nice! Thanks.
I could eat it "as is" :) Looks fabulous.
I gotta get me one of those.
