We had patty melts, roasted potato wedges, and homemade dill pickles. I got a really nice crust on the burgers without setting off the smoke detector! Yes! *fist pump*

We had pot roast with carrots and biscuits. The pot roast was very tasty, just good old-fashioned pot roast. I usually add green chile sauce, caramelized onions, or different spices, but not this time.

It looks good. Is a patty melt sort of a grilled cheese sandwich with a burger and onions, as well as the cheese?
Pretty much, taxy. The full name is French Onion Patty Melt. It's traditionally made with rye bread, caramelized onions, a Swiss cheese, and the cooked burger. About half of the time I make them with American cheese. I've made it with sourdough bread and it was tasty.
