I was ambitious today. I made 8 sub buns from a French bread recipe, with diastatic malt powder, sliced up the leftover sou vide chuck roast very thin, and trimmed out most of the fat, and made a thick cheddar cheese sauce. We're having scratch made Philly Cheese Steak sandwiches tonight.
One grandson had wrestling practice to attend, and so got his sandwich early. He kept telling me how much he liked it. That's not always the case with these picky grandkids. It made me silently smile.
