I'm building a loaded up burrito from mostly leftovers. Flour tortilla stuffed with refried black beans, rice, shredded cheese, roasted chiles, and onions. I'll top it with a little sour cream and Herdez salsa.

May not be Oscar worthy, but it'll use up a lot of leftovers and I do love burritos. :yum:

What's on everyone's plate for this evening?

And the award goes to: oven baked panko crusted chicken fingers with honey mustard dipping sauce, and leftover Chinese takeout.

Brown is one of the best colors for foods, so tonight's dinner was a salute to brown. We had broiled kielbasa and deep-fried Tater Tots.

Last year at this time, the snow was over my waist, and I couldn't possibly get to my grill. Today, I was out on the bike, and came back to do some yard work. Thank you, Mr. El Nino.

With temperatures in the low 50's, had to do a grill meal. Dry brined sirloin, along with sesame spinach pasta and asparagus.

Dover Sole (baked), coated with Panko, graded cheese, bread crumbs & seasoning. Lima beans & 1/2 baked potato w/ sour cream & green onion.

I gave the kitchen a good cleaning today, so it's closed for tonight.

We're watching the pre Oscar's right now and I'm DVR'ing it too so in a little while SC will pick up dinner from our local Mexican restro. who does lots of fish. My take out order will be ceviche cocktail and Cioppino. SC will have the special salad with crab, shrimp, smoked albacore, and smoked salmon. I can hardly wait for the real deal show to begin. It's Hollyweird in all her glory!

Traditional Sunday night petite sirloin roast along with mashed potatoes, green beans, salad and roll. I bought a packet of pot roast seasoning, mixed with a little water to make almost a paste. It's marinating now. I'm hoping someday to make a roast that has a blackened crust like my local supermarket has for sale in their deli area. I think I need a mustard and spice paste of some kind for that.

Definitely a fork burrito.....it was messy and delicious. I'm stuffed. :)

No Oscar-worthy here, unfortunately. We went to a Strolling Supper Party - a tasting event with lots of local restaurants. It's was a fundraiser for the local public radio station.

It was supposed to go from 4-7 pm, but several of the restaurants were out of food by 5:30. You could buy regular tickets or a table; apparently they removed all seating on that floor of the hotel, so there was no place to sit, even for a few minutes, and not enough pedestal tables for all the people. And only one cash bar for at least a couple hundred people. It was disappointing, although the food we did have was mostly good.

Thank you, Kay and Joey. :)

Kay, I'm wondering what SC ended coming home with , hopefully it was something close to what you two wanted. lol

GG, the Strolling Supper Party sounds like fun, even though it didn't last very long before the food was gone.

Looks good, Joey. I don't know very many people who like lima beans - I love them and always have a bag of them in the freezer. :)

Fine looking food porn tonight. Thanks, Cheryl and Joey. I knew there was a reason I keep coming back here. ;) BTW, I like limas, too. One of my Mom's go-tos for a quick upper was lima beans and cottage ham in the oven. I need to hunt a cottage ham down now.

Kayelle, what Mystery Meal did you end up with?

GG, sorry to hear that the Strolling Supper wasn't all that. What a shame. Maybe the next time the planners will plan better?

Haven't felt good enough to eat for the past couple of days, so I didn't cook. Himself cleaned up leftovers on Friday, and came home with some questionable food choices on Saturday, so I had no choice. Besides, had foods that had to get cooked It's amazing how much better I felt once I started flipping things around in the kitchen. Except for a shredded finger. Have no idea what I did...

I sauteed shrimp in butter with Spice House's Florida Seasoned Pepper and put them on top of polenta with ricotta and Parmesan. Cooked up two-week-old asparagus that looked better than some they sell in the grocery store. Tossed it with a pat of butter and some lemon zest. I tend to overbuy when something is on sale - good thing I know how to store it so it stays in shape.

I tried a new recipe tonight. Instead of baking or roasting chicken, I pan fried a chicken breast. This was a split breast that I deboned.

What was actually new was the sauce I made for it. Just a smidgen before the chicken was done, I poured in a quarter cup of white wine vinegar and half a stick of butter and finished cooking the chicken in it until the sauce was a little thickened. That sauce! To die for. I thought it would be vinegary, but it was just delightfully tart. I started with just a little over the chicken and then went and poured the whole rest of the pan of it on my plate, so I could sop each bite of chicken in the sauce.

Now that's a recipe I'm going to do again!
