Here is the pic of the salad I made. An Asian style. :) Can you name the ingredient?

Shrimp, Thai basil, maybe crisp fried onion or shallot ring, in an endive leaf. Is that what you mean. It is great looking.

That doesn't look like an endive leaf to me...almost like a shell from a fruit or vegetable. I'm going to be completely random and guess a banana flower.

How about a salad served in a leaf of a banana bud? I can see basil, prawns, onion, either carrot or papaya, etc. Close enough?

Sararwelch, your random guess is spot on!

The salad is made with banana blossom, chicken and prawn (cooked in coconut milk), onion, Thai basil and some Vietnamese mint as well. The dressing is simply fish sauce with vinegar and sugar. This is a typical Vietnamese/Thai style salad! :)

OOh, ooh, banana blossom! Wonderful!
And served in the banana flower shell, right? That beautiful purple shell that no-one ever knows what to do with!

VERY tasty looking salad there! Thanks!
