I'm putting together a 4th of july cookout with a couple of my bros and my contribution is going to be the all american brats. I have the process down, simmer brats in beer for 20 mins.... yada yada yada. I've tried the cheap beers for this process several times which yeilded fairly good results, but what I'm looking for is a beer that will add the best flavor to the brats and onions. Any suggestions?

Will there be beer drinking before eating? If so, use what you want. Taste won't be an issue at that point.

A hoppy beer does a great job...Pete's Wicked Ale, Dogfiish 60 min IPA, or Boston Lager work very well, as does Hop Devil.
