What should I put in this?
I bought a zucchini that looks like small pumpkin, round and it sits upright. I'll hollow it out and stuff with bread and cooked italian sausage. What else would be good in the stuffing before I bake it? ~Bliss

Split the zucchini in half lengthwise so you can stuff two halves.

Saute some onion and mushrooms with the sausage then mix in some shredded cheese and stuff the zuke halves. Bake until done.

ahhhhhh - I was going to say the same as Andy (split in half) but after reading your post again I see your squash is round. Hollowing out I'm sure is fine.

Other ingredients that will fit:

fresh flat-leaf parsley
garlic
Reggiano-Parm cheese
some kind of white melty cheese (asiago?)
cream cheese even

Gotta run - customer - those are just some quick suggestions

Cook in pan:
1 and 1/2 lbs venison and pork shoulder italian sausage cooked
2 onions chopped (I don't throw away any of it but the peels)
garlic
salt
pepper
parsley
ADD:
1/2 cup parmesan
1/2 cup romano
12 pieces of whole grain bread in cubes
Hollow out zucchini and fill with stuffing
Bake at 375° F for an hour
serve,

I was starving, and the smell of the italian sausage cooking was so good. I tasted it before putting the cheeses in and it was fine, and the cheeses just took it over the top. The texture of the whole grain bread added to it too. It was good!
There was enough stuffing for two zucchinis so I'll make another when my son comes home, I'm sure he'll like it.
Thanks for the help ~Bliss
