Cinnamon - ground vs stick

I'm cooking some soup that calls for a cinnamon stick in the boquet garnis. I just discovered that I'm out.

Any ideas how much cinnamon to substitute for the stick?
 
I'm with Uncle Bob - a pinch at a time, to taste. But, I would add, wait about 5-10 minutes after adding before tasting.
