HELP!!! is there anything i can use in place of powdered sugar?? i live to far away from the store, i was making cinnamon rolls and don't have any powdered sugar for the icing is there something else i can use to take it's place.

If you have a coffee grinder or spice mill you can take regular granulated sugar and grind it to powder. It will be broken down further to powdered sugar. A mortar and pestle will also work.

How about these?

Lee

GRANULATED SUGAR FROSTING
1/2 c. milk
3 tbsp. flour
1/2 c. granulated sugar
1/4 c. butter
1/4 c. "Spry" (shortening)
Vanilla (opt.)

Cook milk and flour until very thick. Let cool. Cream sugar together with butter and Spry. Add milk and flour mixture and beat until whipped cream consistency. Add vanilla. Will suit those who do like a "too sweet" frosting and may not have confectioners' sugar on hand.

BROWN SUGAR ICING:

1 c. light brown sugar
1 stick melted butter
1/4 c. evaporated milk
1 tsp. vanilla

Bring first three ingredients to a boil, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and add vanilla. Beat with a spoon until cool.
