I have a sealed, refrigerated container of ricotta cheese dated use by 28 Aug 2015. I just opened it an it smells OK. Would you use it in a recipe?

If you opened the package and did not get a gushing of fetid air then everything is OK. Good by dates and sell by dates are useless. Use your nose and your common sense.

After reading this I happen to think about-- wonder if anyone has ever froze it With the winter weather coming, I like to stock up on some items and tis would be a good one..
