Easy Chicken Curry Americana

1 fryer chicken
3 bay leaves
salt/pepper to taste
1 qt chicken gravy
1 tsp curry powder

Boil chicken with salt, pepper, and bay leaves until tender, about 1 1/2 hrs.
Remove chicken from bones and let cool. Heat gravy; slowly add curry powder and seasoning to taste. Add chicken. Serve over rice adding any of the following of your choice: crumbled bacon, chopped green onion, chopped peanuts, coconut, raisins, chutney.

We like curried chicken deelady only I do it a little differently.
I would use atleast 4 tsp curry powder and boil the chicken with the curry powder in the water. After adding the chicken etc to the gravy, diminish it then thicken with either plain flour or corn flour. I normally add coarsely chopped onions, raisins and potato chunks. The coconut sounds nice, thanks.
