Muffins & Muffin tops?

Hello,

I'm going to buy 2 muffin pans and i saw a muffin top pan. I was wondering when i make muffins doesn't it make the tops? or do i have to make the muffin tops seperately?

Hi, I'm not too sure, but I think a muffin top pan is more shallow, so you get more top (which a lot of people like best) and less bottom of the muffin if you know what I mean. Others may have more insight on this though

you do make the top and bottom of the cupcake in a reg. cupcake pan. the tops pan does just what it say. it may be less deep. not sure about that part

After looking at some google results, it looks like they are used like Sea said, to make a muffin that is mostly top. No need to use liners.
