Ok, the great grocery store I go to has an in-house sushi chef. Love that stuff!!

He also makes this superbly simple squid "salad". It is just squid, a few thin slices of bamboo shoot and some seaweed.

It's the dressing that I'm really looking for. I'm sure it has rice wine vinegar, ginger and a bit of soy sauce. But there's something else in there which I can't quite pinpoint.

Does anyone have a TNT recipe they could share? I'll do some more googling, but thus far haven't had much luck in finding what I'm looking for.

Here's an asian viniagrette. You'll have to eyeball the measurements, as the original recipe yields 6 qt or so. If you have a 1/3 c measuring cup, just fill it halfway for 1/6 c.

Oriental Vinaigrette
Yields: 1 pt

½ c rice wine vinegar
1/6 c soy
1 1/6 c salad oil
1/6 c sesame oil
2 t ginger, fresh
1 ½ t black pepper
1/6 t garlic
1/3 t Tabasco
salt

Mix all ingredients except the oil, whisk until smooth. While whisking, slowly add the oil in a steady stream.
