My wife is cooking a birthday cake for my dad and he's diabetic. She is looking for unsweetened cocoa powder, unsweetened carob (powder?), unsweetened grape juice concentrate and/or date sugar.

She has tried the local supermarkets, mostly with no luck. She is going to Whole foods now to see what they have. ANy suggestions??

Cocoa powder is unsweetened. You can buy Splenda which can be subbed cup for cup with sugar. It works very well. I buy date sugar when I go to Palm Springs.

Cocoa powder is in the regular supermarket. Carob would be in whole foods or natural food places.

I have seen unsweetened white grape juice (not concentrate) in the regular supermarket.

Date sugar ??
