Hi I am new here and need some help re conversions.

Can any one tell me what "1 c" is in a receipe?

Im not any good with converting these to metric or even to ozs! I presume that it means 1 cup but i am not 100% sure.

Anyhow how much is 1 cup? i would think it would depend upon the cup you are using:)

Any help please would be great

Hello Scarlet, from a fellow Scot!
Any recipes posted here by non-Europeans are often expressed in cup-fuls.... we don't use that, so it makes conversion a minefield for us metric or avoirdupois (oldies like me) users. And to make it even MORE complex, the US have their own pints, gallons etc which are different to Imperial measurements too.:)

One of the mods has kindly posted conversion charts on a number of the fora here, so you should be able to find an easy converter by opening a couple of the fora, I think the Beef etc one has it as a 'sticky' topic at the top of the board.
