Does the size of a crock pot (slow-cooker, whatever) have any effect on the actual cook time of the food inside? I kind of work on a funny schedule where some of my meals are planned around certain time increments and worry that a larger crockpot will turn my life upside down :) Also, being a newbie to the forum, is there a spot for crock pot recipes? I browsed a bit but didn't see anything. Thanks!

Welcome to the site!

I do not think the size plays any role is cooking time. We are talking about such long cook times usually that there is a wide window time in which the food can be complete. Most recipes will say your meal will be done after 8-10 hours or 10-12 hours or something like that. Crock Pot meals are pretty forgiving that way.

You can find our slow cooker section here.

Hey GB, thanks for the info. I'll have to check out that Slow Cooker section as well...
