Drying canned chickpeas for roasting

Still consider myself a newbie cook! I am roasting chickpeas for the first time. I didn't know it would take about 45 minutes to an hour to dry the chickpeas. There are different ways of drying them-in a colander, wrapped in a towel or keeping them on paper towels. Which method do you think works the best/fastest? Thank you!
