We have used a pressure cooker for years to do our fresh and frozen green beans. Once the pressure starts it only takes 3-5 minutes for the beans to cook. We now have this multicooker and it seems they will take longer in the Magic Chef multicooker because it has to warm up and will take longer to break the seal. Any suggestions as to how long we should cook our beans?

Hi and welcome to Discuss Cooking :)

I have an Instant Pot multicooker. I found that setting the pressure to 0 (zero) minutes worked best. It cooks the beans while coming up to pressure.

A pressure cooker infuses flavors into foods very quickly and effectively. No, it's not necessary, but when I make green beans with Penzeys Fox Point seasoning in the IP, they're more flavorful than when I just simmer them.

I used the pressure cooker for broccoli tonight just to see. It was indeed more flavorful than steamed. I've learned a new trick!
