Can anyone tell me where can I buy rice or wafer papers to wrap around food for deep frying?

IMO wheat wrappers work better for rolls that are fried. Rice wrappers have to be rehydrated and IMO don't do as well when fried.

Rice Papers/Wafer Papers for Deep Frying

Hi, thanks for everybody's reply.
I live in the San Francisco area. If anyone knows of the brand name, it may be easier for me to find a grocery store to buy these wonderful wraps.

Brands change from store chain to store chain - and region to region.

Go to your store and ask someone for Wonton/Won Ton wrappers (wheat) if you want to deep fry (egg rolls, wontons, etc.) or Spring Roll Wrappers (rice) which can be fried but the wheat wrappers are better from my experience - or try an Asian market - last time I was in San Fran they were all over the place.

Here I can buy them at a Vietnamese-family-owned grocery store in Dubuque, Iowa, but no regular grocery store will carry them. San Francisco should be easier! I use them to make summer rolls most often; I don't much like to deep fry (just too messy) but have.
