I know. I have no idea at all how long it will keep in the refrigerator. It's never stayed there more than a week.

Orange curd is pretty good, too.

If you use key limes, and put the curd into a flaky pie crust, does it become key lime pie?

I'm thinking that the curd isn't quite as stiff as the custard in a pie, but then, I could be mistaken.

I presume curd could be made from any fruit, e.g. orange curd?

Any citrus, I've even done kumquat curd and grapefruit curd...have to use ruby reds, the white grapefruit it too bitter.

I think I'll try orange curd this weekend using PF's recipe. Have been going through curd withdrawals lately.
