Tahini Storage

I have seen Tahini mentioned many times at DC and finally bought some. My question is, how long will it last, and should it be (or should it not be) refrigerated? It says there are no preservatives or artificial ingredients. The jar does not say anything about refrigeration, so I assume it does not need to be, but I know some things that don't require refrigeration still last longer if refrigerated..

Refrigerated, it lasts pretty much forever. That said, before using mine I always do the sniff/taste-test just to make sure it hasn't gone rancid. Hasn't happened yet.

last time i made hummus i made my own tahini. it lasted in the fridge for almost two weeks. it wasn't bad when i threw it out, was just sick of it.
