Tom Yum Kung--Thai traditional food for you!

Hi There,

Have you guys ever tried Tom Yum Kung before...you know what it's easy to cook. Let's do it!!

Ingredients
1. Shrimp (1/2 pound)
2. Mushroom (3-4 cups)
2. Kaffir lime leaves (2-3 leaves)
3. Lemongrass
4. Limes (3 table spoon)
5. Galingale (3 pieces of slice)
6. Guinea-pepper (3 seeds)
7. Fish Sauce (3 table spoon)
8. Sugar (1 tea spon)

Cooking
1. Boil 3 cups of water in a pot
2. Put Kaffir lime leaves, Lemongrass, and Galingale
3. After water boiled, add Shrimp, and Mushroom then wait until soup reboil
4. Add Fish sauce, Lime, Guiner-pepper, and sugar

It's easy, right??

I love tom yum goong! :)

But I think 3-4 cups of mushrooms is way too much. For 3 cups of soup 4 or 5 quartered buttom mushrooms is enough for me.

Also, I simmer bruised lemongrass, the kaffir lime leaves, a little galangal or giner and a clove or two of garlic in the liquid for a while and then remove them, bring the liquid to a boil, add the shrimp and mushrooms and take off the heat. I hate my soup to have all that inedible stuff in it.
 
I love Thai food. And I'm surprised at how few blogs & other web resources (and even cookbooks) are out there. Thanks for the post. I hope you have more in the future.
 
Thanks Vyapti, I will have new Thai dishes for you in colse future ^^ And Jynnyema, I also remove all endible stuff out of my bowl before eating.. I need just herbs smell.
