Chicken Thighs vs. Chicken Leg Quarters

I buy whole chicken mostly. My kids love chicken legs, and my husband and I love thighs. Somehow. But in general it is better to buy hips, there is more meat, and it is easier to cook than for me.

I would pass on the chicken leg quarters.

I tried them a couple of times and found that the waste from skin bone and fat made them a poor value.

I'm slowing down now. I used to love finding whole chicken quarters. Back bone was stock, thighs and drumsticks separated. 3 for 1 - good deal!
