Top Crock pot tips

What always works for me,this is the general rules i follow
1.No frozen meats ever, this will likely crack the crock pot liner, also makes the cooked meat taste odd.
2.Have sufficient time (something i don't have a lot of with a full time job)
3.Make sure you put in sufficient liquid the recipe calls for...
4.Don't lift the lid (the temptation is always there for me...i like a clear lid on it)Time for the recipe gets lost when you lift the lid...so don't do it
5.Layer the ingredients, usually the vegetables at the bottom, then meats on top.The reason for this is so meats don't end up burning on the bottom, vegtables cook just fine in the liquid provided.
Most of the work seems to be the preparation of ingredients....however the final result is always worth it!!

What goes around comes around!

It also helps to spray the liner with a non-stick cooking spray to prevent ingredients from sticking.

Welcome to DC. When I buy my new Crock Pot I always use the disposal Reynolds liners so the clean up is easy.
