I bought a bag of carrot chips for the first time today. I was wondering if you can freeze them without blanching them? I thought I would try these because a lot of the time the carrots go bad before I get to use them.

Yes you can, but you will have a texture change. After freezing you can only eat them cooked. No need to blanch, first.

We have the same problem with produce, can't eat it all before it goes off. I freeze at least half of the fresh produce I buy.

+1 I freeze my "soup mix" that has prechopped carrots, celery and onion.

Now why didn't I think of that. I love your "soup mix" idea.

Thanks! It's nice as I can have a big bag of it, take out what I need. Also a good way to use up wilty veggies.

Allows you to finish chopping that onion, use what you need and toss the rest in the freezer. Otherwise I toss a lot of half onions out because they get lost in the fridge.

+1 on the soup mix. I have a pound of carrots to save. I love the idea of using up half an onion when I only needed half, and I already have celery chopped and frozen.

Now why didn't I think of that?
