If you've never tried this, you just have to, it's soooo good.

Take your favorite baked bean recipe, get rid of the ketchup, prepared mustard, mollases, and sugar. Replace with maple syrup, lightly fried pork cubes, and jsut a tsp. or so of your favorite chili powder. It is incredible, not better than what you already love, but definitely equal.

Now I detest when pork & beans are added to chili. They are just too sweet for my taste. The flavors don't belong together. But chili powder added to baked beans, in small amounts, adds a wonderful flavor. :chef:

Cool Goodweed, next time we do a tri tip the kids asked for baked beans, will give your recipe a try then...Thanks for the idea.
