Chief's Crazy Rice

This is a modified version of a rice and pasta dish that we call Ralph. The original recipe is very taty, and easy to make, as is this version. Crazy Rice (feeds 6 to 8 adults):
5 cups water
2 cups long grain rice
4 tbs. Chicken soup base
2 stalks celery, sliced
1/2 large onion, diced
1 lb. Lean ground beef
1 lb. Italian sausage, or spicy French sausage
1/4 packg. Thin spaghetti, broken into 1/4 inch lengths.
4 bay leaves
1 tbs. dried thyme
14 oz
can pinto beans

Brown ground beef and sausage in large Dutch oven, with the lid on. Break into small chunks. Add thyme, onion, celery, soup base, and bay leaves. Simmer for 7 minutes or so. Add the remaining ingtedients. Cover and cook over low heat for 30 minutes. Serve with a good dalad
Enjoy.

Chief, this sounds good and fun too! I have a question: I recently discovered Fideo Cut Spaghetti - https://www.barilla.com/en-us/produc...-cut-spaghetti - do you think this might work instead of the spaghetti called out? If so, any idea how much to use?

Thanks for any direction!
