If you're in the mood for by-pass surgery, here is the meal for you. You cook sausage in butter and add cream and cheese. You can feel your arteries harden with every bite.

Taking a cue from the potato chip industry, I've calculated the per serving fat content to be about 9 grams. Each serving consists of 3 noodles and a crumb of sausage. That's about 50 grams per normal human serving.

It's worth it, though. It will make your brief life worth living.

Coronary Alfredo

1 lb mild italian sausage
1/2 cups butter
1 lb rigatoni or similar pasta
1 1/2 cups whipping cream
1/2 cup dry white wine
1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese

Melt butter in a heavy saute pan over medium-low heat. Add the sausage and continue to cook, breaking the sausage into crumbled bits until cooked through. Do not drain. Add the cream nad wine to the sausage. Bring to a boil, adust heat to a slow simmer and cook, stirring occasionally, until slightly thickened, about 5 minutes.

Mix in cooked rigatoni and parmesan cheese. Sprinkle lightly with nutmeg.
