I have a package of Asian Gourmet brand sesame flavored rice crackers. The ingredients listed are: High grade rice, Palm Oil, Sesame seed, Salt, Sugar, I+G. What is I+G as an ingredient in the rice crackers? Thanks.

Google and I have never heard of it. Does the brand have a website you could use to contact them?

"I + G" is Disodium 5' Ribonucleotide. It's a food additive which acts like a flavor enhancer ala MSG.

I'm impressed!

That's a new one on me. Did you know that or find it? If you found it, what did you search on?

Thank you so much!

I don't know why my searches weren't bringing it up. I had posted the question elsewhere under another name, but had no answer yet.

So it's kind of like MSG hmmmm... I never had a reaction to MSG, but I figured it's better to be safe. I'll try to avoid I+G like I try to avoid MSG if I can.

Thanks again.

I like it here already. :)
