When I was growing up my babbysitter would make pinto beans in a pressure cooker and homemade tortillas. She was a slight lady ,not much taller than I was in the fifth grade. Her pressure cooking skills were however very large.I have tried to duplicate her pinto beans in a pressure cooker many times to no avail.Every bean was intact, the broth was semi thick with no dominant flavors to distract you from the perfection that it was.Her tortillas were just as flawless. It really was the perfect meal and I am looking for some old school recipes and methods for both the beans and tortillas.

I don't have a recipe, I just make my flour tortillas by feel,

but I would imagine that if she made them the "old school" way then they
contained lard. It contributes to the texture as well as flavor.
