Made these for breakfast this morning. For those who don't know, Dutch Babies are a German pancakes, where like the Pennsylvania Dutch is really Pennsylvanian Deutsche Dutch Babies are Deutsche Babies. These pancakes are light, with slightly crispy edges, and are super easy, and quick to make.

Needed Tools:
Heavy, ten inch, oven safe pan
Wire Whisk
Mixing Bowl
Ingredient Measuring cups
Wet Ingredient Measuring cup
1/2 tsp. measuring spoon
Cake Turner (Spatula)

Ingredients:
2 large eggs
1/2 tsp. salt
dash of nutmeg
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup AP Flour

Preheat the oven to 450 Degrees F. with the dry pan in the oven.

Crack eggs into the nixing bowl and whisk until smooth; Add nutmeg, and milk and whisk together. Add the flour and whisk to make a smooth batter.

@hen the oven reaches temperature, With oven mitts, or hot pads, remove the pan to your stove top. Place two tbs. butter onto the pan and swirl to melt, and cover the bottom and sides of the pan. Reduce the oven temperature to 430 degrees F. Pour all of the batter into the pan, covering the whole pan bottom. Place back into the oven and bake for 12 minutes.

While the dutch baby is baking, prepare fresh fruit, or canned fruit by rinsing, and slicing into bite-sized pieces. You can use fresh berries, banana, Apple, stone fruits, or you can use fruit preserves, jams, or jellies.

When the timer goes off, carefully remove the pan from the oven. The handle will be hot, so use oven mits. slide your spatula under one side of the pancake, while tilting the pan to slide the whole pancake onto a large plate. Top with fruit, and dust with powdered sugar. serve by slicing wedges for each person.
I topped my slices with raspberry jam, for one slice, and apple butter for the other. It was delicious.

For a savory treat, top the dutch baby with crumbled bacon, and aged Emenellar, or Swiss cheese, or with sausage gravy. Use your imagination. prosciutto and Parmesano Regiano, Lox and Smoked Gouda, oven roasted peppers, and sliced Kielbassa, Breakfast sausage and maple syrup... You get
the idea.

Enjoy.
