we used to have these online contests, Golden Chef, where someone woul suggest a theme ingredient, and those who wanted to would make an appetizer, main course, and desert from that ingredient. It was popular for a short time on DC, but faded into oblivion.

So here's a new idea, especially relevant to this time of social distancing. Does anyone remember the late 1970's, when friends would plan and execute dinners where you would go to one home for an appetizer, another for the main course, and a third for the desert? They were fun, if impractical. Well, my suggestion is that we follow that format on DC, where we create a virtual social gathering, wan ith one member providing a recipe for an appy, another providing an entre', others providing side dishes, and someone giving us a recipe for desert. Then, we all make the recipes and enjoy a fine meal. The only caveat is that we would need to use normal, good food, nothing pricey as many don't have an excess of funds. We would also have to keep in mind that not everyone has special tools, such as a sou vide machine, or a pressure cooker. We wold want to make this activity as available as possible to everyone on DC.

So I'm open to suggestions. Does anyone want to participate? And if so, do we want to make this a regular thing?

Small minds want to know.
