found a few bottles of new shampoo that were put away and forgotten, they have expired now for a year. I know it could be useless but could it be any bad if using it?

Shampoo doesn't really go off. If the container isn't closed well, it could dry up or start to dry up and get thicker. Even if it did start to dry up, it would just start getting harder to use.

Like taxy said, it doesn't go bad but can get thicker.

I have found a great use for extra shampoo - cleaning soap scum from fiberglass bathtub and shower stall surfaces. Spread it on a damp surface, let it sit a couple of minutes, then wash with a scrubbie type sponge. I usually use a demoted kitchen sponge that's gotten a little too ratty for dishes. Just be sure to rinse thoroughly!

I’ve never seen expiration dates on shampoo. But they will eventually go bad, rank, odor wise, after a few years. Lots of hair products can go bad, but it’ll take some time to get there.
Being in the salon business for almost 4 decades, I have some first hand experience.
Bottom line, use it, it’s not gonna kill ya…
