What a show! We drove out to the country trying to escape the ambient light. Found a spot to pull over on a back country road surrounded by orchards and fields. The moon was starting to rise, and it was bright, bright orange! Very cool.

It's been since the 2001 Perseids meteor shower that I've seen anything fantastic. We drove out to this spot in the desert where all the amateur astronomers hung out and set up our astro gear. I got a few nice wide field shots that evening.

I missed it but there's a video: 2009 Meteor Shower | NowPublic Video Archives with some of it on there. I haven't seen a really good video of this event yet, hopefully someone out there took one.
