Drove by a favorite breakfast diner yesterday. Saw a few cars in the parking lot. Stopped and read seating instruction signs in parking spaces. Strict procedure instructions.

Went when they opened this morning. Followed instructions and were met at the door and seated by a very good waitress (Savanna) we know from before pandemic. She is so happy for the opportunity to earn again and was very careful with everything.

Pleased with a great breakfast, which I didn't have to prepare and Jeannie didn't have to clean up after.

Left over double the normal tip for Savanna.

So glad you and Jeannie had a great breakfast with your favorite waitress, I bet Savanna (love that name) was glad to see you! My concern, as GG mentioned is with air conditioning being a real problem for spreading the damn virus..

We had a favorite diner open on the coast, and the outside seating had been set up on the sidewalk for dining with a choice of inside or out.

I'm still at home but if I had a choice, I'd sure choose outside dining on the sidewalk. Geeze, all of Main St. Ventura is closed off anyway.

I think opening any restaurant or bar at this time, is beyond stupid...
Totally agree with you! We'll be dining at Chez Goddess for a long time to come, Kayelle. Much as I would love to enjoy a lovely dinner at our favorite Irish pub, knowing full well that Brendan and Claire O'Connor will be providing the absolute safest environment for their guests, I just don't trust a lot of people out there in the wild.

Here's an NPR article I read recently that offered professional views on the different risk factors various activities present. The writers run the gamut from infectious disease specialists to epidemiologists to public health experts. I found it a little unsettling to see that hair cuts (my much-needed appointment currently sits at June 16th) run the same risk as eating in a restaurant. :ermm: This might be a summer of long hair in a ponytail...

That's a very informative article CG.
I haven't gone this long without a haircut for years..and today when I tried to doll myself up for a ZOOM meeting with family....low and behold, my hair actually looked just spectacular, if I do say so myself.
Shocking!!!!! Even SC was blown away because I now need a heavy duty brush to look even daily presentable with this mop of too much hair. Today he was shocked my hair looked so good, even after all my previous whining all these miserable weeks. ;) Good thing he loves me.

Here, we are still in phase one..and the beach is open, but no parking and you have to keep moving without setting up a "day camp" of lounging. Masks are required even while jogging on the sand. We would just be thankful for a place to park and look at the Pacific, listing to our music with rolled up windows and maybe the moon roof open on the car. Bliss..we don't need much.

California has a great governor and I'm thankful he is so unflappable and level headed. I'm just so worried about moving so fast we all fall over the cliff.
